Lady Falcons even record with win over Lady ‘Cane

WILMINGTON – The Clinton-Massie volleyball team struggled with its serve but still defeated Wilmington in three, 25-14, 25-16, 25-21 in a SBAAC American Division match at Fred Summers Court.

The win puts the Lady Falcons at 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the SBAAC American. Wilmington drops to 0-14 overall and 0-6 in the league.

“We missed 18 serves,” CM coach Stephanie Reveal said. “We have struggled with getting serves in and in close games that will kill you. We have to do a better job getting the ball in.”

Massie had to make a few adjustments to its lineup , coach Reveal said. Taylor Florea was moved outside with Abbey Faucett going to the middle.

Haley Conley had 12 points, three kills, 19 assists, seven aces, three digs and three blocks in a fine all-around match for the Lady Falcons.

Florea finished with six kills, an ace and two digs. Faith Cottrell had eight points, two kills, an assist and four aces. Taylor Greathouse had six points, seven kills, two aces and 10 digs. Rylee Richardson finished with eight points, five kills, three digs and a block.

Maddie Enright had a kill, an assist and two digs. Kristen Hillman chipped in with a dig. Ashlie Miller finished with an ace, an assist and 15 digs. Faucett posted five points, seven kills, an ace, two digs and a block.
