WC’s Rox honored for work in classroom, on volleyball court

Wilmington College sophomore Amber Rox has been honored by a national organization for her work on the volleyball court and in the classroom.

The Black College Sports Information Directors Association (BCSIDA) announced Rox, from Lawrenceburg, Ind., as the BCSIDA Female Student-Athlete of the Month, presented by Corbitt Graphics.

She is third on the Fightin’ Quakers volleyball team with 71 kills and is tied for the team-lead with 114 digs. The WC Freshman of the Year and Team MVP last season, also is an Admission ambassador.

Rox sports a 3.41 GPA in accounting.

The BCSIDA Student-Athlete of the Month award recognizes student-athletes that are excelling in the classroom and on the field. All nominees must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and must be within good overall standing with their university. A student-athlete is eligible to be considered for the BCSIDA Student-Athlete of the Month as long as their sport is currently in season.
