Soccer sectionals: WHS teams earn No. 8 seeds

Wilmington’s boys and girls both earned No. 8 seeds in the upcoming sectional soccer tournaments, which begin Oct. 16.

In the Division II South sectional boys tournament, Wilmington (7-4-2) is the 8 seed and will host Waynesville (10-3-1) 7 p.m. Oct 17. The Spartans are the 10 seed. The winner goes to 4-seed Ross (9-3-2) 7 p.m. Oct. 21.

In the same sectional, Clinton-Massie (1-12) is the 19 seed and will play No. 1 seed Wyoming (8-2-4) 7 p.m. Oct 17.

In the Div. III South sectional boys tournament, Blanchester (7-7) is the 11 seed and will play SBAAC National Division rival Georgetown 7 p.m. Oct 17. The match will be at Georgetown, the 7 seed. The winner gets No. 5 seed Seven Hills (7-3-3) 7 p.m. Oct 21.

In the Division II Dayton sectional girls tournament, Wilmington (7-5-2) is the No. 8 seed and will host Eaton 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Alumni Field. Eaton is the 10 seed and sports a 4-7-3 record. The winner plays host to No. 12 seed Madison (5-10) 7 p.m. Oct 19.

Clinton-Massie (5-8) is the No. 13 seed in the sectional and will host 14-seed Franklin (2-10) 7 p.m. Oct 16 at Frank M. Irelan Field. The winner faces No. 1 seed Alter (10-0-3) 7 p.m. Oct. 19.

In the Division II Cincinnati sectional girls tournament, the Blanchester girls were seeded 16th and will face 10-seed Ross 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Ross in the opening round. Blanchester is 5-7-2. The winner plays at No. 3 Cincinnati Country Day (11-1-1) 7 p.m. Oct 19.
