Strong at the net, BHS wins in five

BLANCHESTER – A dominant performance at the net helped propel the Blanchester volleyball team to a 25-15, 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 15-11 win over Fayetteville-Perry in non-league action at the BHS gym.

The win puts the Ladycats at 9-10. The Lady Rockets are now 8-11 on the year.

“The girls played as a team,” BHS coach Jenna Weisflock said. “Our passing was on, which led to us being able to hit the ball. We had 58 kills as a team.”

Asia Baldwin led the attack with 22 kills. She also had four blocks, 19 service points and 18 perfect passes.

Shelbie Rose had a team-best 52 assists to go along with a kill, 20 points and five perfect passes. Cheyenne Brown had an assist, nine kills, 20 points and seven perfect passes. Ally Davis had seven kills, nine points and 23 perfect passes.

Morgan Oberle formed a 1-2 punch at the net with Baldwin, recording 17 kills, eight blocks, 17 points and 26 perfect passes. Audrey Heitzman had an assist, two kills, a block and 10 points. Kassidy Abney had three points and 11 perfect passes.
