MT. ORAB – For the second year in a row, Savannah Rhodes led the Blanchester High School girls cross country team to the SBAAC National Division title.
Rhodes was first among 37 runners Saturday in the SBAAC National Division race, finishing in 21:00.58. She successfully defended her SBAAC National Division runner of the year honors.
Teammate Olivia Gundler was runnerup in the race, finishing in 21:23.74, to give the Ladycats a strong 1-2 punch. They needed it for the 54 to 67 win over Bethel-Tate in the team standings.
The girls league title is the fourth overall and second straight in coach Tony Blevins 13 seasons at BHS.
Alex Hughes was the lone East Clinton runner, placing 35th in 35:34.66.
On the boys side, Aiden Henson of East Clinton led the local charges by finishing fourth out of 61 runners. The Astro runner clocked a 17:53.18.
Sean Holland was the first Blanchester runner to cross the finish line, placing fifth in 18:16.16.
