COACHES

Coach Nathan Hauke and coach Chad Sexton both first year coaches for bowling. Coach Hauke coaches JH cross country at WB and coach Sexton coaches varsity boys cross country and varsity boys track/field.

KEY NEWCOMERS

Everyone is new to the program. For the boys team sophomore Austin Grammar has bowled in junior leagues and brings a wealth of leadership and experience to the team. Junior Noah Hiler also looks to be a major contributor. On the girls side senior Mary Sizer, a 3-time SBAAC player of the year in volleyball and a fast-pitch softball standout and junior Booke O’Hara look to have potential to lead the girls team.

RIGHT NOW I LIKE …

The effort the athletes are putting in during practice to learn this new sport. Many of them spent a great deal of time this summer and fall to practice.

RIGHT NOW WE NEED TO IMPROVE …

Right now we really need to improve on spare shooting and just establishing consistency with stance, approach, and delivery.

LEAGUE FAVORITE

We don’t know much about the other teams yet, but we do know Goshen has had a team, so they very well could be the favorite.

ANYTHING YOU’D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT TEAM …

As a first year program we are very excited to represent Western Brown and the SBAAC in bowling.

ANYTHING YOU’D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT TEAM, SEASON

I will say I am very excited about the progress of our boys varsity team. We have three very strong boy bowlers and we are very excited about getting the chance to work with them. Everyone who has come out for bowling has had a great attitude and we are just looking forward to teaching the fundamentals of the game and seeing them grow throughout the year.

ANYTHING YOU’D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT TEAM, SEASON

With this being a new sport at Williamsburg High School, we have mostly new bowlers or inexperienced bowlers. They have improved with practice and I’m sure they will improve as the season progresses. We do know for sure we will have fun with this season and we will find out how stiff our competition is when we meet them. Here’s to a wonderful new experience for our bowling team at Williamsburg High School.

ANYTHING YOU’D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT TEAM, SEASON

The majority of my bowlers are beginners. My goal for the season is to grow them individually and not necessarily “win” matches. Hopefully this season will be of notice to the student body of Georgetown and interest will be piqued for seasons to come.
