The Blanchester Junior High School football teams finished their respective seasons this week with a combined 13-2-1 record.

The eighth grade (6-1-1) squad defeated Williamsburg 28-14.

James Peters had 290 yards rushing and a couple of touchdowns. He finished the season with 1,488 yards rushing, coach Brad Ballinger said.

Kadin Berwanger had 101 total yards and a touchdown on offense. Nate Bates laos had a touchdown.

On defense, Jesse Wright led with 10 tackles while Berwanger had five tackles and two interceptions. TJ Monhollen had an interception and Thomas Dugger recovered a Williamsburg fumble. Gage Daniels had five tackles.

The seventh grade (7-1) defeated Fayetteville 16-8.

Brayden Sipple opened the scoring with a 35-yard touchdown run then threw to Brody Rice for the two-point conversion on the first BJHS possession.

After the Rockets tied the game 8-8, neither team scored until the fourth quarter when Sipple’s pass to Rice put the Wildcats at the 1. Blake Richard then bulled his way into the end zone to give Blanchester the win. A Sipple to Rice pass was good for the two-point conversion.

On defense, Richard had 16 tackles to lead the young Wildcats. Gage Huston had 13 tackles and Brady Phillips was in on 11. Kyle Hopkins had nine and Gabe Peters recorded eight. Tre Mowry was credited with six tackles.
