WHS boys fifth, girls eighth at Bellbrook swim invitational

BEAVERCREEK – The Wilmington High School boys swim team finished fifth Saturday at the Bellbrook Invitational at the Dayton Raiders Aquatic Center.

Badin won the boys meet while Bellbrook won the girls meet.

Wilmington was eighth overall in the girls competition.

Ricky Dungan and Sam Osborn both scored in the same two events, the 50- and 100-yard freestyle. In the 50 free, Dungan was fourth overall in 23.12 seconds while Osborn was seventh in 24.33 seconds. In the 100 free, Dungan clocked in at 51.84 seconds and was third while Osborn swam 55.17 and finished seventh.

Harrison Law was fifth in the 100 fly in 1:05.25 and sixth in the 100 backstroke in 1:11.76.

The boys 200-yard medley relay team of Luke Mulvey, Josh Andrews, Connor O’Boyle and PJ Godsey clocked in at 2:07.26 and finished eighth.

In the 500 freestyle, Heys was seventh with a time of 6:19.58 while Xavier Disney was eighth in 6:42.42.

Heys also was eighth in the 200 IM in 2:42.61. Andrews was seventh in the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.48.

The boys 200 free relay of Osborn, Law, Dungan and Godsey was sixth in 1:42.32.

In the 400 free relay, the quartet of Osborn, Heys, Law and Dungan finished third in 3:45.0. The team of Rory Bell, Disney, Mulvey and Aiden Hester scored two points with a time of 4;24.03.

On the girls side, the 400 free relay team of Shannon O’Boyle, Abigail Greene, Petra Bray and Morgan Bahr hit the wall in 4:33.19, good for fourth place overall.

Morgan Bahr was eighth in the 100 butterfly, posting a time of 1:20.29.

Petra Bray was eighth overall in the girls 50 free, finishing in 29.19, and eighth in the 100 free in 1:05.88.
