Wilmington High School senior Hunter DeWeese has chosen Lourdes University to continue his golf career. Hurricane head coach Phil Gilmore said, “Hunter was the unspoken leader of the team. He has a terrific work ethic and he demonstrated it every day that he was a part of the Hurricane golf team. He also showed his teammates the work ethic necessary to become a better golfer and his teammates fed off that. He also united the golf team and helped them, especially all four seniors, to become good friends. He and his fellow co-captains were the foundation of a successful reconstruction from 2014 to 2017, and I could not be more proud of the golfer and young man that he has become.” In the photo, from left to right, front row, Dwayne DeWeese, Hunter DeWeese, Kim DeWeese; back row, Lourdes University golf coach Gil Guerrero, and WHS golf coach Phil Gilmore.
