Ferrum defeats WC men’s lacrosse 20-4

The Wilmington College men’s lacrosse team struggled in a lopsided contest against Ferrum College losing 20-4 Tuesday.

Wilmington completes the four-game road stretch against William Peace 5 p.m. today.

The Panthers of Ferrum College jumped on the Quakers early, scoring 11 goals in the first quarter. Jhordan Lang was able to net the first Quaker goal, but Jadon Flannery was the only other Fightin’ Quaker to score in the half. Ferrum led Wilmington by a score of 11-2 at halftime.

Penalties and turnovers plagued the Quakers for the majority of the game. Wilmington turned the ball over 28 times to just seven for the Panthers.

Lang score in the first two minutes of the third period but Ferrum scored the next five goals and led 16-3 after three.

Lang scored two goals on eight shots. Flannery and Kyle Dimick added the other two goals for the Quakers. Defensively, Tanner Diment picked up 12 ground balls and went 17-of-29 on face-offs.
