The Wilmington College men’s lacrosse team was defeated by Mount Union 12-3 in the first Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) game of the year Sunday at Townsend Field.

The Quakers (3-4, 0-1) will travel to Baldwin Wallace 1 p.m. Friday.

Wilmington struggled to find an offensive groove in the first half as the Fightin’ Quakers only recorded eight shots to the Purple Raiders’ 21. Mount Union was able to capitalize with nine goals.

The lone first-half goal from the Quakers came from Andrew Miller.

The second half Wilmington saw more offensive possessions and recorded two goals on 18 shots, both of which came from Connor Judge.

Eric Wathen caused two turnovers leading the team defensively, and Jake Ladendorf and Zac Chucta were able to pick up five ground balls each. Ladendorf also recorded 13 saves in goal.
