Stacy wins 3, WC women third at Wittenberg Inv.

SPRINGFIELD – Led by Lauren Stacy, the Wilmington College women’s outdoor track and field team finished third Friday in the Coach Rob Invitational at Wittenberg University.

The Fightin’ Quakers dominated the shot put, earning three top-10 finishes. Lauren Stacy won the shot with a mark of 12.00 meters. Kayli Sullivan took second place while Calla Henry finished in ninth place.

Stacy also claimed first-place finishes in the discus (36.51 meters) and hammer throw (47.98 meters).

In the discus, Sullivan was fourth while Zara Zeller was seventh and Kennedy Horn eighth. In the hammer, Zeller was seventh.

Emma Burke was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 68.64 seconds.

The 4-x-100-meter relay consisting of Ryan Allen, Lisa Bailey, Miranda Gibson, and Brooklyn Payne finished fifth in 54.69 seconds.

Cheyenne Rhodes turned in a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.36. Crossing the finish-line a second later was teammate Miranda Gibson for seventh-place (1:08.60).

Bailey and Payne finished seventh and eighth, respectively in the 100-meter dash. Bailey also claimed fourth in the long jump.

Allen cinched third-place in the pole vault, clearing 2.59 meters.
