WC women’s lacrosse loses to ONU

ADA – The Wilmington College women’s lacrosse team was defeated by Ohio Northern 18-4 Wednesday in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

Wilmington played well early in the first half of the game, but Ohio Northern was able to get on the board first scoring two goals. The Fightin’ Quakers answered with goals by Becca Petra and Rachel Reinhart to pull WC within 3-2.

From then on, the Polar Bears took charge going on a 10-0 run to end the first half up 13-2.

Petra and Rachel Brown scored goals in the second half for Wilmington.

Megan Wieloch had 11 saves on the evening, while Kara Griffith was able to pick up four ground balls.

Wilmington (2-8, 0-3) will host John Carroll University in an OAC game 6 p.m. Friday at Townsend Field.
