XENIA – Led by Conner Mitchell, the Wilmington High School lacrosse team defeated Xenia 3-2 Wednesday night.

Mitchell scored a three-goal hat trick and “controlled the face-offs,” WHS coach Adam Shultz said.

Xenia led 1-0 at halftime.

Conner Barton had several “huge saves” late in the match to secure the win, Shultz added.

Wilmington is scheduled to host Newark 5 p.m. Saturday at Alumni Field.
