Wilmington’s Josiah Puller is being honored Saturday at the Wilmington VFW Post 6710 for his accomplishments this season on the wrestling mat.
Puller, 9 years old, finished fifth in the 2018 Flo Tulsa National tournament in Oklahoma. He suffered his only two losses this season in the tournament.
Puller is being honored from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Post, 1130 Lincoln St.
With a record of 71-2 this season, Puller has won championships in the Michigan Sparty Open, the Great Lakes Open, the Miami Valley Kids Wrestling Association tournament, the Berea Midpark tournament, the Division II 70-pound OAC state tournament, the Division II 72-pound OH-WAY southwest regional and the Division II 72-pound OH-WAY state tournament.
Puller, who also earned a state championship in 2016, was named the Most Valuable Wrestler in this year’s OH-WAY state tournament.
