Blanchester boys 10th, girls 11th at Washington Invitational

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE – The Blanchester High School boys and girls track and field teams competed Friday in the Washington Invitational in Fayette County.

The BHS boys were 10th out of 12 scoring teams while the girls were 11th.

Hillsboro won the boys meet over runnerup Minford 112.5 to 95 while Wheelersburg was a runaway winner of the girls meet over Washington Senior, 205.5 to 164.

Tanner Creager had the lone first, winning the 800-meter run in 2:08.46.

Derick Bowman was second in the high jump, clearing 5-8, and fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.09 seconds.

The 4×400-meter relay team of Creager, Bowman, Spencer Dissel and Ricky Davis clocked 3:41.76 and finished third.

On the girls side, Regan Ostermeier had a pair of runnerup finishes – in the discus 98-5 and the shot put 38-0. Her shot put was a personal best.

Olivia Gundler was third in the 1,600-meter run (6:06.05) and fifth in the 800-meter run (2:41.84). Asia Baldwin was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.25.

The 4×100-meter relay team of Mandy Gerlach, Kenzie Cottle, Shilynn Massey and Baldwin were third in 55.69 seconds.
