EC’s Hughes wins Wightman Award


East Clinton’s Alex Hughes was named the winner Tuesday of the Brett Wightman Award. The award, presented by Wightman’s father Keith, is given to an East Clinton track and field athlete who shows leadership, character and dedication to the program. The presentation was made at the Brett Wightman Invitational at ECHS on Tuesday. Brett Wightman was killed in action in Iraq in 2005 while serving in the United States Marine Corps.
