WHS lacrosse sends seniors out with 8-2 win

WILMINGTON – With five different players scoring goals, the Wilmington High School varsity lacrosse team defeated Winton Woods 8-2 Friday night at Alumni Field.

The Senior Night victory puts the Hurricane at 5-6 on the year.

“Our transitions and rides put us on the offensive half of the field,” WHS coach Adam Shultz said. “Also, I was proud the defense was able to limit Winton Woods’ offensive opportunities.”

Craig Schiff led Wilmington with a trio of goals while Conner Mitchell added two. Patrick Black, Cody Cravens and Jake Frazier had one goal each.

Wilmington seniors Conner Barton, Ridgeden Beam, Patrick Black, Bricen Cook, Cody Cravens, Blake Frazier and Destry Powell were honored prior to the match.

The junior varsity lacrosse team was defeated by Winton Woods 9-3 on Friday.

Logan Frazier had a pair of goals while Rudy Cresswell added one. Destry Powell had an assist.

Wilmington is 1-3 on the season.
