FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Wilmington College softball team closed out its 2018 season with a doubleheader loss at Franklin College Monday, 5-0 in game one and 9-1 in game two.

Beth Persicano took the loss, scattering 11 hits with two strikeouts. She avoided the big inning throughout the game but wasn’t given any support as the WC offense failed to get a runner to third base.

Savannah Hooper, Mariyah Burkhardt, KenDahl Bowles and Kaylee Barber all hit singles for Wilmington.

In the second game, Savannah and Sawyer Hooper started a WC rally in the third but only one scored on a wild pitch.

Grace Shell was the losing pitcher on the mound and finishes her season with a 7-9 record.

Crager finished 2-for-2 in game two while Ali Dixon hit a double. Sawyer Hooper and Persicano both hit singles for the Quakers.

Wilmington concludes its 2018 season with a 13-21 overall record and a 4-12 mark in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
