LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Pierce Burnam earned runner-up honors in the 400-meter hurdles Saturday, highlighting the Wilmington College men’s track & field team’s performance at the University of Kentucky Relays.
Burnam finished the event in 53.34 seconds, less than two-tenths of a second behind the winner, Hunter Miniard from the University of the Cumberlands.
WC senior Kalvin Butts finished third in the hammer throw with a heave of 180-0 while also earning a fifth-place finish in the discus with a mark of 4143-11.
Wilmington has next weekend off before traveling to Delaware, Ohio, for the Great Lakes Regional Qualifier hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
