DELAWARE – Wilmington College men’s track & field senior Pierce Burnam set a school record by winning the 400-meter hurdles at the 2018 Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University Thursday.

Burnam won the event with a time of 52.43 seconds, beating the entire field by more than a second. Burnam was the school record holder in the event after his mark of 53.22 seconds at the Jesse Owens Classic approximately a month ago.

The New Richmond native currently sits with the eighth-best time in NCAA Division III.

The field for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be announced on Saturday.
