Ladycats claw out 5-set win over Batavia

BATAVIA – The Blanchester volleyball team opened its season Tuesday with a thrilling 22-25,25-23, 25-15, 17-25, 15-12 win over Batavia.

”The girls played very well together,” BHS head coach Jenna Weisflock said. “Each girl on the court gave it their all tonight in the win. I’m very happy with the effort.”

Morgan Oberle led the way with 18 kills, 11 blocks, 17 points and 13 perfect passes.

Holly Scott had 25 assists, 23 points, a kill and a dig. Madison Creager finished with two kills, a block, 21 points and five perfect passes. Kassidy Abney had an assist, three kills, 11 points and six perfect passes.

Ally Davis chipped in with three kills, 11 points and 11 perfect passes. Caili Baumann notched three kills, five blocks and an assist. Kelli Hoffman had 16 points and eight perfect passes, the BHS coach said.
