Massie tennis cruises to easy 5-0 win over EC

ADAMS TOWNSHIP – The Clinton-Massie tennis team had little trouble Tuesday in a 5-0 win over East Clinton in non-league action on the Lebanon Road courts.

“Play was a bit sluggish after the holiday weekend and the hot, humid temperatures,” said CM coach Lynn Deatherage said. “We are read for some September weather for better tennis.”

Clayborn at 9-0 remains unbeaten at first singles this season and is making a solid showing in the Cincinnati Enquirer poll for tennis athlete of the week. Voting ends Friday, Deatherage said.

As a team, Clinton-Massie is 7-2 overall and 5-0 in home matches, according to Deatherage.
