WILMINGTON – New Richmond’s Addison Fagen scored four goals and added an assist in a 5-1 win over Wilmington in SBAAC American Division girls soccer action at Alumni Field.

Autumn Housh scored Wilmington’s lone goal in the 79th minute off a set piece from the top left of the box, coach Alex Rhinehart said.

”The girls played hard all night and responded well to playing a few people out of position due to injury,” Rhinehart said. “The scoreboard could have read very differently tonight. I felt like we were competitive most of the night. A few lapses cost us. To New Richmond’s credit, they connected on some great shots from distance and also forced us into some turnovers in our defensive third.”

Despite the loss, Rhinehart is pleased with the progress of the Lady Hurricane.

“We continue to improve with each game,” the WHS coach said. “Every game something new clicks with the girls. I’m happy with what we learned from tonight’s game. It is always nice to gauge where you are against one of the best teams in the league. We will take our lessons from tonight and build for Saturday against Hillsboro on Saturday and the rest of the season.”
