Blanchester JH volleyball splits matches

The Blanchester seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams split matches Tuesday with East Clinton.

The seventh grade Ladycats defeated the Lady Astros in two extremely close sets 28-26, 29-27.

Hope Blankenbeckler had four aces, a kill, an assist and a perfect pass. Captain Gracie Roy finished with an ace, two kills, two perfect passes and an assist. Payton Johnson had an ace, a kill and a block.

Gracyn Phillips had three aces, a kill and a perfect pass. Desiree Snader had three kills and a perfect pass. Kaylee Coyle finished with a kill. Lainey Dameron chipped in with an ace and a kill.

Annalee Miller-Steffen had two perfect passes and stepped with several defensive saves, coach Benza said. Abbey Irwin, Katie Hass and Cheyenne Reed also contributed in the victory, said Benza.

The eighth grade Blanchester team was defeated 24-26, 19-25.

Ainsley Whitaker had three aces, a kill and four assists. Summer Schutte finished with three aces, seven kills and a block.
