The Blanchester girls soccer team was defeated by Williamsburg 5-0 Tuesday in SBAAC National Division play.

Williamsburg led 3-0 at halftime, although the difference in the match was not as large as the score, BHS coach Kurt Ballinger said.

Caitlyn Lakes had 17 saves for the Ladycats. She was in goal in place of Regan Ostermeier, who missed the game with an injury, Ballinger said.

Maddison Berrien came off the bench and provided a spark to the BHS effort, the coach added.

Blanchester falls to 2-3-1 on the year with the loss.
