Bethel-Tate pulls out volleyball win over East Clinton

BETHEL – East Clinton lost a hard-fought SBAAC National Division volleyball match Thursday to Bethel-Tate 19-25, 25-19, 23-25, 19-25.

“We did a lot of things well,” EC coach Sarah Sodini said. “We blocked really well and played good defense. However, we’re still working through some hitting errors and Bethel-Tate capitalized on that. They had good servers and our serve receive struggled.”

Sodini said Kenzie Campbell and Myah Jones played well for the Lady Astros. Campbell finished with three aces, 18 kills, two blocks and seven digs. Jones had four aces, five kills, four blocks, 14 assists and four digs.

Kait Durbin had five aces, five kills, a block and 12 digs. Rhylee Luttrell had six digs and Emma Malone finished with nine digs. Gracie Evanshine had one dig.

Lacey Peterman had an ace, three kills, 17 assists and three digs. Megan Stewart had an ace, four kills, a block and four digs. Kiya Byrd finished with two kills and two blocks.
