WINCHESTER – The Blanchester girls soccer team was defeated by Eastern 6-2 Monday in a non-league match in Brown County.

Blanchester, 2-5-1 on the year, fell behind 3-0 in the first 20 minutes.

Emily Hinkle scored early in the second half to make it 3-1 but Eastern put three more balls in the back of the BHS net for a commanding lead.

Caitlyn Lakes scored the final goal of the match for BHS in the final minutes. Savanna Shank had an assist on Lakes’ goal.

Lakes had four saves in goal in the first half and Alyssa Griffith made three saves in the second half.

BHS coach Kurt Ballinger said Sally Schafer played well defensively while Hinkle and Shank were top offensive players.
