WINCHESTER – Unable to hold a 1-0 halftime, the Blanchester boys soccer team was defeated by Eastern 3-1 Monday in a non-league match.

Cameron Gibson, assisted by Carter Stevens, scored the only goal in the first half to put BHS on top 1-0.

“The Wildcats appeared to run out of steam toward the end which is what they’ve been struggling to maintain all season,” Blanchester coach Troy Ballinger.

Eastern put home three goals in the second half to win the match. Blanchester drops to 1-6-1 on the year.

Gavin Colebrank of BHS “showed improved awareness and stopped a total of 15 shots,” coach Ballinger said.
