EC volleyball outlasts Fairfield in 5

LEES CREEK – The East Clinton volleyball rallied for a thrilling, five-set win Saturday over Leesburg Fairfield 17-25, 25-15, 25-22, 18-25, 15-10 in non-league action at the EC gym.

“This was a great team effort,” EC coach Sarah Sodini said. “Everyone saw playing time. We’ve been working on playing as a team and not individuals and I think we did that.”

Lacey Peterman had an ace, three kills, 25 assists, eight digs and three blocks. Kenzie Campbell had 19 kills, a block and 13 digs. Kait Durbin finished with two aces, five kills, two blocks, an assist and 11 digs.

Katrina Bowman contributed an ace, two kills, nine assists, five digs and a block. Miranda Beener chipped in with six digs while Rhylee Luttrell had two. Myah Jones recorded six kills, three assists, a block and three digs.

Kiya Byrd had seven aces, eight kills, two digs and a block. Gracie Evanshine came through with four aces, two kills and five digs. Megan Stewart had an assist and two digs. Emma Malone served an ace, eight digs and a block.
