WILMINGTON -Seve Stavroff had a tip-in at the buzzer Friday night to lift Jerome to a 51-49 win over Mason in the fourth game of the Ohio Valley Hoops Classic at Hermann Court’s Fred Raizk Arena on the campus of Wilmington College.
Stavroff, the Game MVP, finished with 19 points and 2 assists for the Celtics (1-0). Colton Irion had 12 points and Zach Watson scored 10.
For Mason (0-1), Matt King had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Eddie Puisis had 12 points and Nate Halley had 10 points.

WILMINGTON -Northridge shot lights out 52 percent Friday in a 64-53 win over South Ripley (Ind.) in the third game of the 2015 Ohio Valley Hoops Classic at Hermann Court’s Fred Raizk Arena on the campus of Wilmington College.
The Polar Bears were 30-58 from the floor with 6-6 powerplant Drew Ogletree leading the way. The Game MVP had 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.
Namon Crowder and Malik Alkbar both had 11 points for Northridge (1-0).
South Ripley (1-1) was led by Elijah Roepke and Cory Walker, both with 14 points. Kaleb Riley had 12 points.
WILMINGTON – Chaminade-Julienne’s relentless defense throttled Johnstown-Monroe, 53-44, Friday in the second game of the second Ohio Valley Hoops Classic played at Hermann Court’s Fred Raizk Arena on the campus of Wilmington College.
Game MVP Christian Montague, who had a key steal, layin and free throw late in the fourth quarter, finished with 17 points for the Eagles (1-0). Eric Boykin led all scorers with 23 points. Miles Joiner grabbed 12 rebounds for CJ, coached by Joe Staley.
For the Johnnies (0-1) Jason Carter, who is headed to Ohio University, had 18 points and 11 rebounds. He also blocked four shots and handed out 3 assists.
Neither team shot it particularly well as both sides were tough on defense. CJ was 16-41 from the field and Johnstown was 13-41. The Johnnies did hit 14-15 free throws.
New Albany rallies
for 60-55 win in 2OT
WILMINGTON – Tariq Hutchison had a steal, layup and free throw with 53.1 seconds to play in the second overtime to propel New Albany to a 60-55 win over Northmont in the opening game of the second Ohio Valley Hoops Classic played at Hermann Court’s Fred Raizk Arena on the campus of Wilmington College.
Northmont (0-1) led by as many as 13 points but went ice cold in the second half and allowed New Albany (1-0) to get back in the game.
Game MVP Joey Rolwing of New Albany had 17 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
Toby Mayle added 14 for the Eagles and Bryson London scored 13.
New Albany was 14-19 at the free throw line while Northmont was 2-12.
For the Thunderbolts, Jason Biggs led with 15 points. Jarell Taylor had 12 points while Vinson Walker had 7 points and 7 rebounds.
