LEESBURG – Emily Hinkle scored four goals and Savanna Shank added three as the Blanchester girls soccer team defeated Fairfield 10-0 Monday in a non-league match in Highland County.

The Ladycats are 5-6-1 on the season and will face Bethel-Tate Tuesday.

Blanchester scored three goals in the first 10 minutes of the match, BHS coach Kurt Ballinger said. Hinkle scored twice, assisted by Shank and Lana Roy.

Shank made it 3-0 when she took a pass from Bri Wilson, dribbled past four defenders and beat the Lady Lions goalkeeper, Ballinger said. Wilson then scored late in the first half, with Hinkle returning the favor with an assist. Shank made it 5-0 to close the first half scoring.

Hinkle tallied two in the second half, with Bri Haun assisting on the first. Shank completed her hat trick off a corner kick.

Regan Ostermeier, the BHS goalkeeper, recorded her fourth career assist with a huge punt that led to a goal by Roy. Haun scored the first goal of her career with Alyssa Griffith assisting.

Ostermeier had eight saves to push her record shutout total to 20. Hinkle has a BHS best 32 career assists. The four goals is a single-game best for Hinkle.
