BETHEL – The Blanchester girls soccer team played Bethel-Tate to a 1-1 tie Tuesday in SBAAC National Division action in Clermont County.

The Lady Tigers put constant pressure on the BHS defense in the first half, coach Kurt Ballinger said. The Ladycats were flat, the coach added.

Playing under siege for nearly 40 minutes, the ‘Cats had a bend but don’t break style and made it to the half tied at 0-0, said Ballinger.

Bethel-Tate scored early in the second half when Natalie Struve hit a long-range chip over the head of BHS goalkeeper Regan Ostermeier.

Emily Hinkle then tied the match with a well-place penalty kick. Lana Roy was tackled from behind, Ballinger said, to set-up the PK.

Ostermeier finished the match with 12 saves. Bri Haun played well defensively for Blanchester, now 5-6-2 on the year.
