MIAMISBURG – The golf season for Clinton-Massie junior Gabby Woods ended Wednesday at the Division II district tournament at Pipestone Golf Course.

Woods uncharacteristically struggled through the round with a 95 (45-50).

“Rough day,” CM coach Tim McGraw said.

Woods got off to a slow start and never recovered.

“This game is difficult enough and it is really difficult when your swing doesn’t cooperate,” said McGraw. “I felt bad for her today.”

Woods 95 was tied for 25th in the event. The individual scores that qualified for the state tournament were 83, 84 and 86. Makenna Jones of National Trail was the overall medalist with a 78.

Woods has had a stellar three-year career to this point for Clinton-Massie. She is the school record holder with a nine-hole mark of 31 and an 18-hole total of 72. Woods also is a two-time SBAAC Girls Golfer of the Year.

“Very proud of her and the year she had,” McGraw said. “This doesn’t take away what she accomplished this year and she will come back strong from it.”
