NEW RICHMOND – SBAAC American Division leading New Richmond defeated Wilmington 3-0 in girls soccer action Thursday night.

“Earlier in the week I said New Richmond was going to be another chance to test ourselves after playing right with second in the league Western Brown in a hard-fought loss,” WHS coach Alex Rhinehart said. “We stepped up to the challenge again.”

Rhinehart was pleased with a 1-0 halftime deficit.

“The whole defensive unit responded well to the pressure of a team that fires off lots of shots,” the WHS coach said. “We also put together some of our best team attack of the year. I’m proud of the way the girls played this week. They stepped up to the top two teams in the league and gave them tough games.”
