EC volleyball dispatches GHS with ease

Despite several injured players, the East Clinton volleyball team defeated Georgetown 25-17, 25-11, 25-13 Thursday in an SBAAC National Division matchup.

“The girls played well,” EC coach Sarah Sodini said. “I’m proud of the way they are finishing out the season. We’ve had several injuries and we’re overcoming and moving forward.”

Sodini said Kaitlin Durbin and Kenzie Campbell hit the ball well on Thursday while Myah Jones had one of her best setting games of the season.

Lacey Peterman finished with an ace, two kills, 11 assists and eight digs. Katrina Bowman had two aces, a kill and an assist. Miranda Beener recorded an ace and three digs while Gracie Evanshine chipped in with one dig. Campbell had two aces, seven kills and three digs.

Jones had an ace, six kills, 14 assists and four digs. Megan Stewart posted three aces, three kills, three digs and two assists. Emma Malone had an ace and two digs. Kiya Byre had two aces, three kills, an assist and two digs. Durbin had five aces, nine kills and five digs.
