Clinton-Massie football coach Dan McSurley will miss Friday’s game against Goshen with a knee injury.

McSurley, who is in his 23rd year as head coach of the Falcons, injured his right knee during physical education class Monday.

McSurley was scheduled for an MRI Tuesday on his knee.

The extent of the injury or how long McSurley will be out is not known at this time, Clinton-Massie athletic director Cindy Running said.

McSurley is 214-58 during his Clinton-Massie tenure. He guided the Falcons to state championships in 2012 and 2013.

Since winning just 30 of his first 61 games at CMHS, McSurley has posted a 184-27 record.

The veteran coach also missed time during the 2004 season with knee and bicep injuries.

Goshen ended Clinton-Massie’s 61-game league win streak last season with a 33-31 win at Jim Brown Stadium at GHS.

Clinton-Massie is 6-1 this season. Goshen is 5-2 on the year.

Both teams are 2-0 in the SBAAC American Division standings. New Richmond also is 2-0 in the league.
