ONU blanks WC 5-0 in women’s soccer action

Ohio Northern dominated a matchup of top teams in the Ohio Athletic Conference Wednesday and defeated Wilmington College 5-0 at Townsend Field in women’s soccer action.

The Polar Bears moved to 4-0 in the OAC with the win and 10-2 overall. Wilmington College drops to 2-2 in the OAC and 8-4 overall.

Mikhayla Carter, a freshman at ONU, is a 2018 graduate of Clinton-Massie High School. She scored the final goal of the match for the Polar Bears to make it 5-0.

ONU led the match 1-0 at halftime then scored three goals in less than 10 minutes early in the second half to take control of the contest.

ONU held a 20-9 advantage in shots on goal and had a 4-0 edgein corner kicks.

WC goalkeeper Leda Moyer had five saves on 10 shots.
