Heys, Henson wear SBAAC crowns

BETHEL – Clinton County had a pair of league champions Saturday at the SBAAC cross country championships at Bethel-Tate High School.

Wilmington’s Simon Heys and East Clinton’s Aidan Henson were race winners, Heys in the American Division competition and Henson in the National Division race.

Heys ran a 16:20.37 and bested race runnerup Chase Easterling of Western Brown by 23 seconds.

Henson was clocked in 17:48.5 and also was a 22-second winner over second place Sam Frondorf of Bethel-Tate.

In the team standings, Wilmington was runnerup to Western Brown in the American Division battle while Blanchester was runnerup to Bethel-Tate in the National Division.

Clinton-Massie was sixth in the American Division and East Clinton was fifth in the National Division.

Top runner for the Wildcats was Tyler Holland who was fourth overall in the National Division with a time of 18:32.16.

Logan Fisher was the first Clinton-Massie runner to finish, placing 24th in 20:05.71.
