Gundler claims SBAAC National cross country championship

BETHEL – Blanchester’s Olivia Gundler outdistanced the field Saturday to claim the SBAAC National Division girls cross country championship at Bethel-Tate High School.

The Ladycats senior clocked in with a 21:57.31 and won the race by nine seconds over her nearest competitor.

Blanchester was third in the team standings with East Clinton fourth.

Carah Antek was the first Lady Astros runner to cross the finish line, placing 10th in 24:42.71.

In the American Division, Emma Muterspaw of Clinton-Massie was the first local runner to finish, placing fourth in 21:48.43. Wilmington’s Sylena Baltazar was ninth in 22:51.94.

In the team standings, the Lady Hurricane were third overall while Clinton-Massie did not have a complete team.
