BETHEL – It was a two-runner race Saturday in the SBAAC Girls Junior High School Cross Country Championship at Bethel-Tate High School.
And Wilmington’s Sophie Huffman hit the line first to claim the overall individual championship.
Huffman and New Richmond’s Zara Graff finished 1-2, but were 51 seconds ahead of the next group of runners.
Huffman clocked a 12:55.93 to win the race.
As a team, Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School was third overall. None of the other schools in the county had complete teams.
Aubrey Stevens of Blanchester was 16th in 15:13.21.
Kaylyn Deaton of East Clinton ran 15:21.63 and finished 21st overall.
The first Clinton-Massie runner was Alivia Hull who clocked a 16:47.73 and placed 44th.
