Henson 30 seconds better, advances to regional meet

WEST CHESTER – East Clinton’s Aidan Henson improved his time by nearly 30 seconds from last week’s SBAAC National Division winning race and has qualified for the Division II Southwest Regional meet at Troy’s Hobart Arena.

At Saturday’s Division II district meet at Voice of America Park, Henson was the ninth individual with a time of 17:19.22. Henson won the league race with a time of 17:48.5 last week.

The top 12 individuals and top three teams advanced from the district to the regional meet.

As a team, East Clinton’s boys were 10th in the field.

Justin Arnold was 61st in 20:48.59, Van Frye 66th in 21:38.74, John Cline 68th in 21:50.23, Zach Vest 69th in 21:56.96, Jacob Howard 73rd in 22:51.81 and Trenton Garen 77th in 25:21.7.

In the girls Division III race at VOA, Carah Antek ran 23:47.31 and finished 32nd overall. The top 16 individuals and top four teams advanced from districts to regionals.

Kenton Deaton was 65th in 28:13.29 and Alex Hughes ran 66th in 28:13.96.
