OVHC Day 2: Park Tudor, East Tech post wins

Day two of the 2015 Ohio Valley Hoops Classic featured five games.

Three of those games involved Clinton County teams.

Clinton-Massie defeated Fairfield 68-60 in the first game of the day then East Clinton closed the two-day event with a 61-51 win over Paint Valley.

In the second game, Blanchester was defeated by Eastern Brown 71-46.

In the third game, Indianapolis Park Tudor flexed its muscle with a 72-28 rout of Mansfield Senior.

In the fourth game, Cleveland East Tech knocked off Lakota East 55-43.

East Tech broke open a close game with a big third quarter and then held on for the win over Lakota East.

Markell Johnson, one of the top players in the nation with interest from DePaul, Arizona State and Florida, had 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots. The 6-0 point guard hit 10 of 15 from the floor.

For Lakota East, it came down to shooting. The Thunderhawks were just 2 of 14 beyond the arc and made just 9 of 22 free throws. Andrew Emerick had 19 points and 8 rebounds for Wilmington High School grad Clint Adkins.

Park Tudor, winners of three Indiana state basketball championships in the last four years, dominated the Tygers in every way.

The Panthers shot 58 percent from the field and held the Tygers to 21 percent shooting. Park Tudor held a 40-16 rebounding advantage.

The Panthers were led by Kobe Webster, a junior point guard who is getting looks from Div. I teams. He had 23 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Jaren Jackson Jr., a 6-8 forward who has the collegiate eyes of programs such as Indiana, Xavier, Michigan State and Purdue, had 15 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

Jornell Manns led Mansfield Senior with 10 points.
