COLUMBUS — At least seven local youths competed, and excelled, at the recent All American Quarter Horse Congress.
All of them placed or earned an award in at least one of the events in which they competed:
• Alexis Winemiller placed 5th in Youth Halter Performance Mares.
• Halie Harner was a finalist in Youth Western Pleasure 15-18.
• Kami Kile placed 12th in Youth Hunter Seat Equitation 11 & Under.
• Kori Kile was a finalist in National Youth Activity Team Tournament (NYATT) Showmanship for the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association.
• Hailey Kilgore placed 9th in Level 1 Youth Barrel Racing 13 & Under and 2nd in National Youth Activity Team Tournament (NYATT) Barrel Racing for the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association.
• Jillian Jefferson placed 12th in Youth Horsemanship 11 & Under, 5th in Youth Showmanship 11 & Under, and 9th in Youth Western Pleasure 11 & Under. She was a finalist in Level 1 Youth Hunter Under Saddle 13 & Under and in National Youth Activity Team Tournament (NYATT) Western Pleasure for the Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana Quarter Horse Association.
• Kendel Bachey was a finalist in Level 1 Youth Hunter Under Saddle 13 & Under.
Kori Kile, Halie Harner and Hailey Kilgore were all on the National Youth Activity Team Tournament (NYATT) team for the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association. The team placed 3rd overall in Division 1.
Jillian Jefferson was on the National Youth Activity Team Tournament (NYATT) team for Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana Quarter Horse Association. The team placed 7th overall in Division 1.
