Hillsboro girls win first over EC 50-32

LEES CREEK – Hillsboro notched its first win in five tries this season with a convincing 50-32 victory at East Clinton Wednesday in South Central Ohio League girls hoops action.

The Indians (1-5, 1-1) scored the game’s first eight points and used an 18-4 second-quarter run to take a 30-11 advantage into the intermission.

Hillsboro’s Madison Snyder scored 14 of her game-high 20 points in the half.

The Indians led by as much as 23, in the third quarter.

EC (1-4, 0-2) opened the final period with an 8-2 run to trim Hillsboro’s cushion to 43-26.

Lacey Peterman led the Astros with nine points.

In the JV game, Peterman also was EC’s leading scorer with 10 points as she led the Astros to a 35-23 victory. Kaley Burns led Hillsboro with eight points.
