The Blanchester eighth grade girls basketball team was defeated by Mt. Orab 28-24 Thursday in the season opener.

Olivia Potts scored eight points to lead the Ladycats attack.

Ainsley Whitaker had 13 rebounds, six points and four steals. Hailey Mulvihill finished with four points and 11 rebounds.

Madi Tipton ad Kaidyn Burress had two points each; Burress also had four steals. Josie Wilson and Sarah Pell had one point each. Destiny Blankenbeckler played well defensively, coach Julie Mulvihill said.

The Blancheser seventh grade boys basketball team was defeated by Mt. Orab 47-34 Thursday night in the season opener.

Jansen Wymer had 12 points and eight rebounds to pace the Blanchester effort.

Bryce Sipple had 11 points, three steals and three assists. Bill Hamm and Sky Smith had three points each. Xander Culberson finished with two points and two assists. Quinton Rice had two points and Nick Taylor had two steals.

Kyle Garrett had nine points and seven rebounds.

Zach West totaled seven points and five rebounds. Levi Montgomery and Dylan Creager had two points each.
