CINCINNATI – The East Clinton wrestling team finished 15th Saturday at the Everett Howard Memorial Invitational at North College Hill High School.

John Cline ripped through the 170-pound weight class with five pins to win the championship.

Michael Horn had two pins and lost two matches by decisions. He finished sixth.

Matt Horn at 138 and Nathan Vest at 182 won matches for EC.

”For our first tournament, we saw some good things and some things we need to improve on,” EC coach Doug Stehlin said. “Cline had a dominate performance, including his finals match. He was losing 5-0, fought back to regain the lead and to get the pin in the third period. Michael Horn wrestled well in his first high school tournament and will continue to get better as the season goes on.”

The Astros next match is 1:30 p.m. Friday at Madison Plains in an in-school dual.
