After slow start, Ladycats roar to 53-26 win

OWENSVILLE — A 27-point win looks like a pretty easy outcome but for Bennie Carroll and his Blanchester girls the 53-26 win over Clermont Northeastern was far from easy.

“Most of the first half, we were behind,” Carroll said.

Blanchester improves to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Southern Buckeye Conference National Division action.

The Ladycats were down 17-10 midway through the second quarter then went on a run, a big run. They took the lead 21-19 at halftime then outscored CNE 32-7 in the second half.

Carroll said Kayla Dugger drained a 3-pointer in the third quarter to push the lead to 7 then Tristan Culberson cashed in on a 3-pointer to get the difference to double digits. The Ladycats never looked back.

“In the second half, we really turned up the intensity as notch or two, came at them a little harder and forced some turnovers,” said Carroll.
