Hurricane wrestlers second at Bellbrook Invitational

BELLBROOK – The Wilmington High School wrestling team finished second Saturday at the Bellbrook Invitational.

“The (coaching) staff was pleased to see how the team pulled together and supported each other this weekend,” WHS head coach Kelly Tolliver said.

Ryle (Ky.) High School was the tournament champion with 269 points. Wilmington was runnerup with 172 and Oakwood finished third with 163.5.

The rest of the 11 team finishers were Fairborn 142, Bellbrook 138, Northridge 122, Madison 101, Thurgood Marshall 94, Triad 89, Turpin 48 and Hillsboro 32.

Senior Trent Holliday was runnerup at 152 pounds.

“Trent performed extremely well this weekend,” Tolliver said. “He has worked hard to improve and continues to build each week on his takedown and riding abilities. We are very pleased and excited to see Trent’s hard work paying off.”

Donovan Butler was second at 120 pounds.

Sam Eastes at 138 pounds, Dalton Garrison at 160 pound and Jevon Bays-King at 182 pounds all finished third in their respective weight classes.

Fourth-place finishes were recorded by Brayden Smith at 145, Kyle Holland at 170 and Elijah Rockhold at 285. Logan Salatin (132 pounds) and Hayden Dale (195 pounds) were both sixth-place finishers.
