BLANCHESTER – The Blanchester seventh grade girls basketball team was defeated by Amelia Monday 29-9 in the season opener for the young Ladycats.

Casey Kingsland, Maddie Pohlman, Lana Roy and Noelani Tangonan had 2 points each for Blanchester. Brinli Crosley had 1 point.

Maddie Wells played strong defense and grabbed 3 rebounds, coach Mike Cook said.
